1812 Montgomery Street
$8-12 per person
This place is so fun! My husband and I have come here so many times. They have an excellent Happy Hour until 6 pm during the week and INCREDIBLE tacos for ~$4 each.
I usually get the pan fried papas & egg breakfast taco & the grilled fish taco (pictured). Harrison loves the roasted chipotle brisket & the carnitas. Their queso is INSANE might I add.
1701 River Run
$8-12 per person
Tiny tacos! Their tacos are on small corn tortillas but packed with MAJOR flavor. I'd recommend getting 3 if you don't get an appetizer. We split the guacamole which was super good! Their tacos are made fresh, so the food comes out when its ready on a rolling basis.
We got the baja fish (AMAZE), chicken pastor, pork carnitas, glazed pork belly & the sesame ribeye (SO GOOD).
900 Houston St.
~$6 per drink during happy hour
~$12 per drink during normal hours
A bar that's disguised as a bookstore? Count me in. Thompson's is the chic speakeasy vibe without the price! Plus, parking is FREE after 6 pm. Happy hour goes late and the drinks are GOOD. I love the French 75! If you're coming in after dark, head to the stairs on your left to experience the secret bar downstairs (but you'll need the password)!
4801 Edwards Ranch Rd. #105
~$14-20 per plate
This place has fresh food for a great view of the Trinity! There's a local farmer's market next door every Saturday morning, and Mellow Johnny's bike shop next door. Plus, there's shopping nearby at the Shops at Clearfork.
I got the crab cake salad (SO GOOD) with fresh avocado & tomato and Harrison got the turkey burger!
1400 W Magnolia Ave.
~$14-25 per plate
What. A. Gem. Nonna Tata is a cash only, BYOB true Italian restaurant in the middle of Magnolia. The restaurant is quirky and small, so get there as soon as it opens (5:30pm!) so that you don't have to wait to eat this AMAZE Italian food. Bring your own wine glasses & a bottle of your fav wine!
I got the spicy penne pasta & we split some bruschetta as an app. HIGHLY recommend.
